Training Policies
Accommodation Requests
If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate in training, contact us as soon as possible at 612-301-9792 or info@mnchildwelfaretraining.com.
Attendance
Learners who miss more than a total of 30 minutes of training will not receive credit. If the training takes place over several days (for example Foundations), you can only miss a total of 30 minutes (not 30 minutes per day). Please plan ahead to adjust court dates, on-call shifts, caseload responsibilities, etc.
Cancelation Policy
Learners: If you need to cancel your course registration, even if it seems last minute, please follow the steps to withdraw or drop from a course. Our class sizes tend to be small, and we often have a waiting list.
Low Enrollment: The Training Academy reserves the right to cancel courses due to low enrollment. New Worker Foundations requires a minimum of (6) learners, and Specialty courses require a minimum of (7) learners. We aim to make cancellation decisions at least (7) calendar days prior to the scheduled course start date. In the event of a cancellation, an announcement will be posted in Canvas (our learning management system) to notify enrolled participants.
Weather or Unexpected Situations: In cases of inclement weather or other emergent situations, the Training Academy may adjust course delivery to ensure the safety and accessibility of training. This may include transitioning to a virtual format. When we anticipate potential disruptions, we consult with the necessary individuals and make every effort to reach a decision as soon as possible. Any changes will be communicated promptly to enrolled participants via Canvas (our learning management system).
Grading Policy
After a training ends, learners can expect their final completion grade to be posted on their training record within 3-5 business days. You will not be able to register for any required course until your final completion grade shows up on your training record. Please plan accordingly.
Exception: The New Worker Orientation: Self-Paced Modules course final completion grades take 6-8 business days to post (this includes time for the DEI team to grade all IDI requirements at the end of the course). You will not be able to register for the Instructor-Led Enhancement course until your final completion grade shows up on your training record.
Registration
In order to receive credit for any MNCWTA course, learners MUST be registered in advance of the start of training. Last minute registrations will not be accommodated due to existing waitlists and training capacity. Learners will not receive credit for attending a course without being on the registration list.
If you have any issues with the Training Portal, Canvas, or Zoom, submit a ticket on the Contact Us page. If you do not get an email confirming your ticket has been received, follow the steps in the Not Getting A Response article.
