Learn more about Tom Kapocius, one of the new Curriculum Developers for the Minnesota Child Welfare Training Academy.
Tom previously worked at Capella University for 12 years in course development, and prior to that, he taught as an English and Journalism instructor at the high school level. He grew up in Milwaukee and attended the University of Minnesota as an undergraduate in Journalism. He has a Ph.D. in instructional design and currently lives in Minneapolis. He has two grown children (20 and 18) and enjoys biking and being outdoors.
How long have you been working in your field?I've worked in course development and design for 15 years.
What do you enjoy most about your work?I enjoy problem solving and leveraging tools to solve instructional situations.
What are you most passionate about professionally? I enjoy lifelong learning and working collaboratively with talented people.
What are you most passionate about personally?My children and lifelong learning.
What do you wish you were good at?I am trying to relearn guitar.
What else should we know about you?I enjoy Gopher sports and have been a football season ticket holder for 16 years.
