Today is the annual Transgender Day of Visibility. The Minnesota Child Welfare Training Academy (MNCWTA) celebrates the bravery and resilience of our transgender and gender non-conforming employees, caseworkers, supervisors, and the family members we serve.
At the MNCWTA we value full inclusion, belonging, and LGBTQ equality for everyone. We encourage everyone to bring their full selves to work every day and celebrate the diversity that makes us who we are. To learn more about Trans Day of Visibility, check out the Human Rights Campaign webpage.
One of the core guiding values of the MNCWTA is a commitment to working toward addressing equity in our learning spaces and the content we share. Our Practice Framework also identifies cultural responsiveness as a guiding value and principle of our work as a state, and particularly speaks to gender identity as an element of that value.
One step we can all take in is to continue to use our pronouns even as we move to virtual workplaces and online social gatherings. Consider adding your pronouns to your name during your online interactions today. Reach out to the Training Academy folks for more resources.
