Grand Opening Celebration for Training Academy

Please join us for the Twin Cities Metro Learning Center Grand Opening! The Minnesota Child Welfare Training Academy (MNCWTA) is hosting this event on Thursday, September 22 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Agenda

8:30 a.m.: Coffee and light breakfast
9:00 a.m.: Welcome and brief program with comments by DHS Assistant Commissioner Tikki Brown, U of M College of Education and Human Development Dean Michael Rodriguez, Center for Advanced Studies in Child Welfare Executive Director Traci LaLiberte, and DHS Child Safety and Permanency Director Jamie Sorenson
9:30 a.m.: Tours of the facility begin (every 15 minutes) - Public Artist Dani Bianchini, who created several mosaics onsite, will be available on several tours to answer questions and talk about her work
10:00 a.m.: Mock Simulation (again at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. - masks required)
10:30 a.m.: Training Demonstration (again at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.) - Balsam Room
12:00-3:00 p.m.: Ice Cream from the U of M Department of Food Science and Nutrition
12:30-1:30 p.m.: Goldy Gopher
