Community Trainers: Child Welfare and the Law

Applicants must possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school; have one or more years of experience with cases pertaining to child welfare and/or child protection matters; demonstrate an established commitment to diversity and cross-cultural communication; and have the ability to facilitate this course and navigate challenging conversations related to assessment policy and difficult situations. Trainers are needed at each of our learning centers.

Community Trainers: Minnesota African American Family Preservation and Child Welfare Disproportionality Act

Community Trainers are needed to deliver a dynamic and evolving curriculum focused on establishing and utilizing Active Efforts in casework with families disproportionately represented in child welfare and negatively impacted through the cyclical nature of intergenerational trauma and the legacy of systemic racism.

Applicants must have a High School Diploma/GED with three years of experience in and with communities that are historically and disproportionately represented in child welfare. We strongly encourage those with lived experience to apply. We ask trainer(s) to have at least one or more years of experience in child welfare or community capacity partnering with child welfare including a strong understanding of practical application of Active Efforts.

Trainer(s) for this course must have one or more years of experience working with African American individuals/families or individuals/families from a community that is disproportionately represented in the child welfare system AND be knowledgeable about African American and other disproportionately represented social and cultural norms and historical trauma.
