What is your job title, and what will you be doing?
My job title is Training Implementation Specialist. I'll be working to roll out one of the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA) requirements of evidence based practice, specifically motivational interviewing.
Tell us about your education and/or work experience prior to joining the MNCWTA.
I have a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in public health. I also hold a masters in psychology. Prior to starting at MNCWTA I was employed as an Assistant Director of Learning and Professional Development for a child welfare agency in Florida.
How long have you been working in your field?
I've been working in child welfare since 2010. I started as a case manager and have been in the field ever since!
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I really enjoy watching new staff develop and hone their skills. My favorite thing is watching classroom concepts and skills become strengthened with new staff in the field.
What are you most passionate about professionally?
I'm most passionate about training and professional development. My goal is to always guide those to their fullest potential.
What are you surprisingly good at?
I'm surprisingly good at cornhole! I picked it up a few years ago and really enjoy playing in leagues.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I am an avid reader and really enjoy baking.
What else should we know about you?
I recharge by traveling! Greece is my next travel goal. Hopefully in the next year.
