Learn more about Addie Smith, the Northeast Regional Trainer for the Minnesota Child Welfare Training Academy.
Addie has worked in the human services field for over 10 years in multiple different roles including Supervised Visitation Worker, Therapeutic Visitation Worker, Child Protection Social Worker, and a School Social Worker. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Superior and an Advanced Generalist Social Work graduate degree from St. Cloud State University. While completing her graduate degree she was also a Graduate Assistant in the Child Welfare scholar program and had the opportunity in providing components of the Child Welfare Foundations Training. Addie will be providing training to new child protection and child welfare workers along with supervisors. She is excited to be a part of the new era of training in Child Welfare along with being able to connect with the local staff doing the hard work.
What are you surprisingly good at?I also have an associate degree in Baking and Pastry Arts, so I am good at making sweet treats.
What do you like to do outside of work?Outside of work I enjoy trying out new restaurants, traveling, baking, cooking, and spending time with others.
