One of the main goals of the Training Academy is to ensure a quality and equitable learning experience. We are continuing to learn and make improvements to the Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure this goal is maintained. Most recently, the LMS team has identified a need to update the completion process for all instructor-led courses at the Academy (please note this does not apply to self-paced courses).

Current Issue

Currently, in order for a completion to transfer to their official training record, learners are required to submit a final assignment in each course called Required Assignment: Attest Course Completion. However, feedback from learners has shown there has been frustration with this process. In addition, we were recently informed of a University systemwide error causing unreliable transferring of completions. Therefore the current process is unreliable and no longer meets the quality standards of the Academy.

Updated Solution

Starting with New Worker Orientation: Instructor-Led Enhancement on May 28, learners will no longer need to submit this assignment in all instructor-led courses. Academy administrative staff will manually mark completions after each course has ended based on the completion requirements listed below. Learners can expect their completions to be processed within 1-2 business days (Specialty) and 4-5 business days (Foundations) after the course has ended.

Completion Criteria is as Follows:

Specialty Courses

  • Complete: Attended the instructor-led training in full.
  • Incomplete: Missed more than a total of 30 minutes of the instructor-led training.
  • No-Show: Did not attend the instructor-led training

Current Foundations Cohorts

  • Complete: Attended the instructor-led training in full and completed all IDI requirements.
  • Incomplete: Missed more than a total of 30 minutes of the instructor-led training and/or did not complete IDI requirements.
  • No-Show: Did not attend the instructor-led training.
