In order to simplify the process for agency hosted Motivational Interviewing (MI) training, the Pathway 3 option will merge with Pathway 2 starting January 16, 2026. As of that date, Pathway 2 will be for Minnesota child welfare agencies who want to host, or who have hosted, their own MI training with a MINT member or a Training Academy approved MI trainer. This merge aims to streamline the documentation and skills demonstration process for learners.

As of December 19, 2025, Pathways 2 and 3 will no longer be available for registration. Any final skills demonstrations submitted in Pathways 2 and 3 on or before this date will be scored and feedback provided. If you have not completed your skills demonstrations by this date, you will need to wait until January 16, register for Pathway 2, and resubmit your training documentation before moving on to the final skills demonstration.

If you have successfully completed Pathways 2 or 3, you do not need to take any action. Overall, MI Training criteria will remain unchanged. Pathway 2 will also be referred to as Agency Hosted Training, and Pathway 1 as Academy Hosted Training. We will update our website as these changes take place.
