March 12th, 2026 New Process for Assigning Training to New Workers
2 min read
Important Update for Agency Supervisors
The Training Academy has updated the Training Portal to streamline the process for assigning New Worker Training to your new child protection workers. Now when you go to Quick Navigations and then Assign Trainings in your portal, simply select the new employees name, look for the New Worker Training bundle, and check the box (selecting the ASSIGN ALL button will also check the box). To finish, scroll to the bottom of the page and select ASSIGN TRAININGS.
Your new worker will then find these assigned trainings on their portal dashboard with the title Learner: New Worker Training. There will be details about each required training, who assigned them, and the date it was assigned. Your worker can then select the training dates that work best for their schedule. Please continue to encourage them to schedule and complete those trainings as soon as possible.
The purpose of this feature is for supervisors to easily assign all required training for new workers. Eventually other trainings will be similarly bundled, such as Motivation Interviewing (MI) or New Supervisor Training. This creates a foundation for future iterations that will support certification and tracking progress for learners.
For staff that already have a Training Portal (previous agency work, Title IV-E students, etc.), please remind them to update their profile with their new information (email, agency name, etc.) and make sure their supervisor details are up to date. For new workers that do not have a Training Portal profile yet, go to Quick Navigations and then Invite Employees.
