A New Digital Space: The Training Academy Website Redesign

The Training Academy is introducing a redesigned website, developed to improve how learners and community partners engage with our resources and trainings. Created in partnership with Educational Technology Innovations (ETI), the new design is a result of user data and feedback shared by learners, workers, and supervisors over the past five years. Additionally, we recently conducted user testing with child protection workers across both metro and Greater Minnesota counties to analyze the previous site's limitations and build a more functional and accessible layout based on real-world needs.
To ensure a smooth transition and maintain continuous access to essential tools, the new platform is launching in two distinct phases. Phase one will go live this week, introducing a completely redesigned home page that prioritizes clearer organization and improved digital accessibility. This updated front door will streamline the initial user experience, making it easier to find key entry points right from the start.
The remaining sections of the website will transition later this year during phase two of the rollout. This upcoming phase will focus on upgrading the internal landing pages and implementing a more intuitive site-wide navigation system. While the developers finalize these deeper structural updates over the summer, the current internal pages remain fully operational so that course registration and training resources are not interrupted.
